I work with a student on windows 10 and I have a Mac Air 2018 model Mojave 10.14.5.

Using the University Google Drive File Stream, we have a shared folder with a word document.

When the doc is save it messages the other student and it offers to download which occurs.

On the MAC once downloaded a mac box came up saying Drive File Stream needs Automation permissions.

The instructions from iOS say please enable automation permissions by checking box next to microsoft applications under google drive file stream and restarting microsoft office app under the security and privacy menu google drive file stream is listed under automation the google drive file stream.app has a tick already on system events.app I asked Apple support and they said Since it is saying that the permissions need to be added in Google File Stream, and youve already checked that it is listed in the privacy settings of the Mac itself, I would recommend reaching out to Google Support for more file-stream specific troubleshooting tips.

When a Windows user opens, edits, then saves the file, google will pop up a dialog in the bottom right of the Excel window on my Mac telling me that there is a newer version of the file available.

It opens the Security Privacy settings but there is no Microsoft Applications under Google Drive File Stream, only System Events.
